a wing and a red lip
recently, i was gifted some goodies from ilia beauty and i am thoroughly enjoying how thoughtful this brand is. ilia states that their focus is skin and their line is filled with daily essentials designed to “revive your look.” after trying some of the product, i can attest to this statement. the classic wing and red lip look featured in the photo above was created using products from ilia’s line.
on the skin, i used the true skin serum concealer in sc8 cassia to spot treat and cover dark circles. usually i have to blend 2-3 shades to match my skin so i was blown away by how well this single product performed. it matches my skin perfectly, hydrates and doesn’t crease.
the winged-liner was created using an angle brush and ilia’s clean line gel liner in twilight. this retractable pencil glides on easily but should be manipulated immediately because once it is set, there is no moving it without makeup remover. anytime i’ve used pencils to line my eyes, i end up looking like a raccoon by the end of the day due to smudging. but miss twilight? well, i fell asleep with this makeup on (don’t judge me), woke up the following morning and found that miss twilight was still in place. also, let’s talk about the lash – or what’s left of them because i burnt some of my lashes off (don’t ask). i used limitless lash mascara and there will never be another mascara for me. the wand is dual-sided so there’s a side that curls and adds volume, and another side with longer bristles that separate the lash. the result: voluminous yet defined lashes.
on the cheeks, i used the color haze multi-use pigment in stutter. when i initially laid the product down, i was scared! at first, stutter was giving “not for your skin tone, boo,” but once i buffed her in, she warmed up and brought on a naturally radiant flush.
lastly, on the lip is their color block lipstick in flame. typically when i wear bold lip color, i go for a matte finish which totally dries my lips out. this product offers bold, long-wearing pigment and hydration that leaves the lips feeling supple.
